Global public cloud market size will reach $204 billion this year

Recently, the market research firm Gartner released a report that the global public cloud services market size is expected to reach $204 billion this year, compared with $175 billion in 2015, an increase of 16.5%.

Sid Nag, head of research at Gartner, said: "this strong momentum of development reflects the shift from traditional IT services to the cloud, as companies are increasingly inclined to pursue digital business strategies." Gartner pointed out that although the public cloud services show a steady trend of development, but this is the fastest development of the IaaS (infrastructure, namely service). In 2016, IaaS is expected to grow by 38.4%; by the end of this year, IaaS market size is expected to reach $22 billion 400 million.

"IaaS is still the most powerful IT service." Mr nag said. "Some market leader has been in the far ahead, so emerging IAAs service provider only the pursuit of differentiation competition to succeed." In addition, cloud application services (SaaS) is expected to achieve annual growth of 20.3%, reaching $37 billion 700 million. Cloud management and security services growth rate is expected to reach 24.7%. Cloud application infrastructure services (PaaS) is also expected to show a strong momentum of development, reaching a growth rate of 21.1%.
